This Friday, Álvaro de Luna releases lo siento, the latest preview ahead of Azulejos, his new album. A song in which the artist moves toward American blues and leaves room for one of the emotions that traverse this new project: heartbreak. After three years since his previous record, the singer is about to present a work that, he says, speaks of everything he has lived through during this time.

«This album speaks very well of these three years, of the processes I have gone through and how I have felt at certain moments», explains Álvaro de Luna. He defines it as an album «honest, blunt and above all very me», a way to summarize a project in which he says he feels especially represented at this moment.

The first two previews have already begun to find their place among the public and have become some of the summer’s most listened-to tracks. A reception that the singer receives with excitement, especially when he hears his songs sung aloud. «It’s the people who make the songs great,» he acknowledges.

Cinema and Music

The release arrives as Álvaro de Luna continues exploring other creative universes. This year he has attended the Venice Film Festival, an experience that has allowed him to approach the world of cinema and meet actors and actresses he admires. He has also discovered a city that he simply describes as «absolutely beautiful».

The experience has helped him reconnect with one of his greatest passions. In cinema he is fascinated by the ability to immerse the viewer in a universe for a few hours, something he also finds in concerts. Therefore, if someday he could be in charge of the soundtrack for a movie, he would not have many doubts: ‘Anyone would motivate me,’ he says, because it would mean facing ‘a new challenge.’

A New Era

Although he has been on stage for years, there is still a part of releasing an album that makes him particularly nervous. Curiously, it has nothing to do with singing in front of thousands of people, but with something much more prosaic: the manufacturing of vinyl records. «It’s usually what can delay a release,» he explains, so until he receives final clearance he doesn’t fully relax.

As for what is to come, he prefers not to reveal too much. He is clear, however, about how he wants the result to be perceived: «A mature album, very carefully crafted and written with a lot of honesty and heart.» Three years of life turned into songs and a new era for Álvaro de Luna that is about to begin.
