The Six Must-Have Products I Always Carry in My Makeup Bag as a Beauty Editor

Beauty editors are quite picky about the cosmetics we use. However, you can learn a lot about us just from what we carry in our makeup bag. Some have ten lipsticks in their purse, with tweezers and a compact mirror, or with the entire dermocosmetics selection in their tote. Obviously, it depends a lot on factors like the climate, the season we’re in, or how busy our schedule is, although there are bases that always remain.

In fact, now that I think about it, I am faithful to certain products that I consider essential; and it doesn’t matter that I’ve noticed some of the most viral spring trends like the Boyfriend blush or the invisible lashes, they will always have their place.

From the only lip balm that manages to repair my lips to my signature perfume or a sunscreen as light as water, these are six beauty staples that can rescue an important meeting that wasn’t on the agenda, a crazy day you don’t know when it will end, or a spontaneous night.

These products are always in my makeup bag

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lèvres B5.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lèvres B5. I’ve tried hundreds of lip balms, but this one is my favorite. Its formula with panthenol and re-lipidizing actives provides immediate comfort and prevents dryness from worsening. Perfect to carry with you at all times.

Merit Beauty Flush Balm.

Merit Beauty Flush Balm. I like it because it’s comfortable, because it always looks great, and because it blends quickly, leaving a luminous, very natural finish. It lasts for hours, doesn’t feel heavy, and can be used on eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Bioderma Photoderm XDefense Ultra-Fluid SPF50+.

Bioderma Photoderm XDefense Ultra-Fluid SPF50+. I like it because it has an ultra-fluid texture that absorbs quickly and leaves a matte finish, which makes it very comfortable even on combination or oily skin. It works well solo or as a makeup base. It also protects against visible light, infrared, and pollution.

Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP.

Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP. I have tried millions of serums, and this one remains at the top of my list. Its peptide technology works directly on wrinkles, helping to smooth them and improve firmness. The interesting part is that it combines an immediate effect (visible improvement in minutes) with medium-term results. It also helps maintain collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. It has it all.

SkinClinic Sensitive Cleanser.

SkinClinic Sensitive Cleanser. A good cleanser is incredibly important, and this one is designed for sensitive or dry skin. It contains aloe vera, oats, and chamomile that help calm and maintain hydration. Its texture becomes creamy with water and cleanses gently without disturbing the skin barrier.

Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia Eau de Parfum.

Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia Eau de Parfum. It’s the culprit behind the compliment “you smell wonderful.” It’s a luminous and very personal fragrance centered around the lime blossom, with soft hints of honey, jasmine, and powdery notes that make it warm yet light. It’s elegant and has its own personality (that’s why I love it).
