Best Fresh Perfumes for Hot Weather

There are perfumes that, inevitably, I associate with summer. For me, when temperatures start to rise, my way of wearing fragrances changes completely. I put aside the stronger, more enveloping aromas to make way for lighter, brighter, and easy-to-wear fragrances. The reason? I find it very pleasant to leave the house with a fresh perfume because it accompanies you, refreshes you, and makes you feel a little more elegant (even in those moments when you don’t know what to wear).

Now, not all of them are the same, and although for years I associated them with colognes that smelled nice for half an hour and vanished before arriving at the office, fortunately perfumery has evolved a lot and today there are compositions capable of combining citrus, aquatic, green or musk notes with surprisingly long-lasting performance.

So my advice is to look for those with bergamot, neroli, white tea, fig, orange blossom, or clean musk, as they balance freshness and sophistication very well. They don’t overwhelm and smell like holidays, the Mediterranean, and sun-dried clothes.

Recommended: my favorite fresh perfumes

KAYALI Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco | 20.

KAYALI Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco | 20. It is a direct invitation to a white-sand beach, the sound of the sea and those sunsets when time seems to stand still. However, it is not the typical sweet tropical perfume. Here, coconut milk is balanced by rosemary and ylang-ylang, achieving a much more elegant and sophisticated feel. It is fresh, creamy and luminous at the same time.

Miu Miu L’Eau Bleue Eau de Parfum.

Miu Miu L’Eau Bleue Eau de Parfum. Its combination of lily of the valley, violet leaf, and white musk evokes the feeling of walking barefoot on damp grass on a fresh morning. It is a delicate, green and slightly aquatic fragrance that is very easy to wear. It also has an irresistible Parisian touch.

Le Monde Gourmand 000 Eau de Parfum.

Le Monde Gourmand 000 Eau de Parfum. Minimalist, clean, and sophisticated, it is one of those perfumes you’ll adore thanks to its notes of Italian bergamot, water lily, and white musk. It doesn’t try to fill a room, but to discreetly accompany you all day. Moreover, it has something highly addictive that works very well in summer.

Tom Ford Eau de Grey Vetiver.

Tom Ford Eau de Grey Vetiver. Demonstrates that freshness can also be sophisticated. The opening notes of grapefruit, lemon and bergamot are vibrant and bright, while the vetiver provides an elegant and slightly earthy base that recalls a flawlessly tailored suit. It is clean, refined and tremendously versatile.

Phlur Matcha Milk.

Phlur Matcha Milk. Its combination of matcha tea, macadamia milk, and vanilla creates a comforting, soft, and modern fragrance that achieves a balance that is very hard to reach. Bergamot provides a bright note, while musk and amber wrap the composition in a sense of absolute calm.

Maison Margiela Replica Never-Ending Summer.

Maison Margiela Replica Never-Ending Summer. Inspired by the Amalfi Coast, it combines bitter orange, ginger, Earl Grey and vetiver to recreate the feeling of a Mediterranean summer that never ends. It smells like an Aperol Spritz by the sea, freshly cut citrus, and the warm breeze entering through the window of an Italian hotel. It is cheerful, elegant and tremendously evocative.
