The Shampoo I Use When My Hair Starts Falling Out More Than Usual

The amount of hair that sticks to my fingers when I wash my hair is usually the signal that seasonal shedding is returning. I also notice it when I brush my hair or when I clean the shower, but this time I’ve tried not to turn it into a little drama. I know this increase can be part of the hair’s own cycle and that, in many cases, it is temporary.

That is precisely why I have changed how I use anti-hair-loss shampoos. I do not expect a formula to be able to stop a process that begins inside the follicle, because hair that has already entered the shedding phase will eventually shed. What I look for is to take special care of the scalp and keep the hair strong while going through this stage.

I also pay much more attention to washing. I apply the shampoo mainly to the scalp, massage with the fingertips, and respect the contact time indicated by each formula before rinsing. More product does not necessarily mean better results. Consistency and using the treatment correctly make much more sense than changing shampoos every few days hoping for immediate results.

And this has probably been my greatest learning: not to confuse caring for shedding with trying at all costs to stop a natural process. If it is diffuse and temporary it may correspond to seasonal shedding, but if it continues for months or areas with lower density appear, it is advisable to consult a specialist. Meanwhile, I prefer to focus on maintaining a simple and consistent routine.
