Although we are increasingly seeing them resume their public schedule with greater intensity, the infantas Elena and Cristina were not this year in the Principality alongside the kings and their daughters to attend the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremonies. Instead, they chose to opt for a cultural plan in very good company. A day after we saw Felipe, Letizia, Leonor, and Sofía wear their most casual looks to visit Valdesoto, the Exemplary Town of Asturias 2025, the daughters of the emeritus kings traveled to Burgos to go to museums.
And they did so together with two very recognizable faces: actor Antonio Resines and his wife, producer Ana Pérez-Lorente, who has forged a long-standing friendship with the infantas for years. The four were visiting together one of the most touristy spots in the Castilian city: the Museum of the Human Evolution and the Atapuerca sites, which were declared UNESCO World Heritage in 2000.
This is the second time the two sisters have been seen together in a short span of time, though on this occasion it was by surprise. The first was when they attended the traditional flag tribute in the Madrid town of Torrejón de Ardoz, on the occasion of their patron saint festivities. If on that occasion the infantas gave a lesson in elegance with perfect mid-season looks, for their trip to Burgos they opted for much more casual outfits.
Elena and Cristina’s Visit to the MEH
It was the burgalesa museum’s own social media that revealed the visit of Princess Elena and Cristina to the Museum of the Human Evolution alongside the popular Spanish actor and his wife. Alongside a photo of the four, from the institution they noted that Queen Letizia’s sisters-in-law had been “very interested in the scientific content.”

The two sisters appeared companionable and very smiley as usual, opting for a relaxed and highly practical style for the occasion, far from the usual rigidity of official commitments. Wearing their more relaxed image for this day of culture and science at one of Spain’s most visited museums, both wore jeans and sneakers, though Infanta Elena did not renounce wearing a hat, as is her custom.
This visit came days after the Minister of Science, Diana Morant, toured the same sites, which have been the backdrop for several films and even for one of MasterChef Celebrity’s challenges. A cultural and tourist reference, the MEH was inaugurated in 2010 and houses, among other exhibits, the archaeological-paleontological complex of the Atapuerca Sierra sites, where pieces such as the skull known as Miguelón stand out.
A Long Friendship with Ana Pérez-Lorente
As the MEH itself highlighted on its social networks with regard to Antonio Resines’s wife, Elena and Cristina are “two of her best friends from their school years.” Ana Pérez-Lorente and her companions on the Burgos excursion studied together at one of the capital’s most exclusive educational institutions, the Colegio Santa María del Camino.
Over the years, their friendship has remained intact, especially with Infanta Elena, and they have been seen together often at social and private events. One of the most recent occasions on which both sisters coincided with her was last year during the funeral of Paola Caprile, sister of designer Lorenzo Caprile, where they greeted each other warmly.
“They are my wife’s friends; we WhatsApp,” confessed the star of Los Serrano in reference to the close relationship among the three. Interestingly, Antonio Resines also maintains a good friendship with Doña Sofía. In fact, when he was nearly dead after spending 36 days in the ICU in 2022, he revealed that the first person to show concern for him was the Queen Emerita.
“We arranged to meet for coffee. The thing is we haven’t yet carried out the date,” the actor then confirmed. In those tough moments he also received messages of affection from other members of the royal family, such as King Felipe and Queen Letizia and the Infantas Cristina and Elena.
