What It’s Like to Experience New York Fashion Week with Influencer Blanca Arimany

In February we all keep an eye on the various Fashion Weeks to discover the novelties awaiting us for the upcoming season. Paris, Milan, Madrid… are among the cities hosting the most interesting reveals, but if there is one Fashion Week we all dream of attending, it’s New York.

Carolina Herrera, Altuzarra, Tory Burch or Coach are some of the brands that have presented their new collections at this year’s NYFW. That said, the best always happens off the runways, in street style, where we find the best looks to inspire our daily lives.

But, what is it like to experience New York Fashion Week from the inside? At MujerHoy we were lucky to speak with influencer Blanca Arimany, who shared all the details about what it’s like to live this experience from within: the places you can’t miss, what inspires her when building her looks, and the trends that won’t be missing from our wardrobes next season.

How has your experience at NYFW been?

Honestly, incredible; I don’t know if this will be an ‘unpopular opinion,’ but NYC Fashion Week always feels calmer to me than Paris and Milan, perhaps because the city is so big it gives me a greater sense of space. I don’t know what it is, but I have a lot of affection for it and it’s always amazing to return to the Big Apple; I feel at home. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll move there for a season.

Ya has acudido en anteriores ediciones, ¿en qué cambia la experiencia al no ser la primera vez?

This has been my third NYFW edition; it’s incredibly surreal when I say it out loud! I still can’t believe all we’ve achieved with my team in really ‘little time’ in this industry, that by June 2026 there will be two years since I began this full-time job.

Being the third, you know more about what you’re going into, although the nerves before the show are always there, the stress of traffic arriving, the photographers… It’s all very intense but at the same time addictive!

What trends have you clearly seen at the shows you’ve attended and which ones do you plan to definitely add to your wardrobe?

I’ve seen a lot of baggy pants, which I’ve fallen for; they fit great and are incredibly comfortable! I love them! I’ve also seen a lot of beautiful fur coats. I feel it’s a wardrobe staple that saves you in any occasion!

I also love how strong the neutrals have been; in all the shows browns, blacks, whites and colors very close to me dominate, colors that, as I always say, give me mental peace. I’ve fallen in love with the idea of watching a show and thinking, “wow, I can’t wait to wear every single look, because I could literally wear any styling from the collection on a weekday.”

¿Cómo se construyen los looks para asistir a la NYFW? ¿Cuáles son tus inspiraciones? ¿Algún truco en especial?

I draw a lot of inspiration from the brand’s past collections; I try to understand what moves them and what they might like best. I am always very careful when creating a look for FW because I want the brand’s image to be reflected in mine.

And I’m very proud of how this turned out. Altuzarra’s PR when they saw me said: “They are going to love what you did with your look.” And truthfully, for me that’s the most fun part, the ability to bring the look to your own ground without losing the brand’s essence!

What inspires you most about NYFW, stylistically speaking?

I think it’s not so much the people, nor that it’s FW, but the city itself inspires me a lot. Whenever I know I have to go to NY, I fill up with energy and creativity to build different looks, to discover new pieces to mix, and to stroll the streets of SoHo or to grab a coffee at Ralph’s Cafe in the Upper East Side, for example. I think the city motivates me to create and work. Naturally, since it’s said to be the city that never sleeps.
