WeLife Longevity Gijón: The Most Anticipated Event Returns

September 21, 2026

Our grand event on longevity, WeLife Longevity, already has a new date. It will be the upcoming October 19 and we will travel to the city of Gijón with an impressive lineup in the science of adding years to life.

Gregorio Mora will give us the keys to sleeping better; Claudio Nieto will teach us to hack hormones through exercise and metabolism; gynecologist Natalia Gennaro will tell us what happens to hormones as we age; Fernando Mora will reveal which wise decisions help us live longer, and Beatriz Crespo will uncover the curious impact that the life events of our ancestors have on our own lives.

Why Talk About Longevity?

We cannot know what will happen in the future. What we can do is anticipate it. This is explained to us by Manel Esteller, one of the leading researchers in longevity, at WeLife Longevity Madrid: the genes we inherit from our parents write only a small part of our story. It is our life decisions in the form of habits (what scientists call ‘epigenetics’) that drafts and gives the go-ahead to that long-desired longevity.

How we eat, how much we sleep and how much or how little we move, among other lifestyle factors, can ‘turn on’ or ‘turn off’ those cellular switches associated with physical and mental deterioration.

At WeLife Longevity we do not have the magical recipe to live longer, but we do have experts who will explain in a simple and highly practical way what science knows about aging and what levers we have at our disposal to practice what is now called ‘biohacking’. In other words, living longer, but above all, living with a higher quality of life.

And our next stop is in Gijón.

Natalia Gennaro, a Commitment to Longevity

The gynecologist Natalia Gennaro is one of our leading experts. Her view of gynecology is innovative and builds bridges between her specialty and women’s quality of life across the different stages of life.

Gennaro is the founder and director of the First High-Resolution Diagnostic Unit and Precision Robotic Surgery in Pelvic Floor at HLA University Hospital Moncloa. An expert in advanced robotic laparoscopic surgery and pelvic floor surgery. She has extensive training in many of the ailments that arise during menopause, changing women’s quality of life. Among them, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, or sexual dysfunction.

From the side of aesthetic gynecology, she does not hesitate to apply vaginal laser therapy, radiofrequency, hyaluronic acid, or bio-stimulation with growth factors to improve the functionality of these organs. A task often undervalued, but essential for health, including during menopause.

Beatriz Crespo, Small Things Build Big Things

Her presentations convey contagious energy as well as impeccable rigor. Beatriz Crespo is a double Doctor of Medicine and Sports Performance, and her career merges the precision of science with a close, transformative approach through self-care.

Recognized among the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain, Crespo advocates leaving guilt behind and reconnecting with the body through enjoyment and health. “Your brain is not lazy. It just needs you to give it precise commands,” is one of her favorite phrases. It is also her push for micro-habits, those small daily actions in nutrition, movement and rest that, accumulated with consistency, create a lasting impact on vitality.

Claudio Nieto

Claudio Nieto, Let’s Get Along With Our Bodies

There are no magical recipes to age well, only consistency and small tools that help make it possible. That is well known by Professor and communicator Claudio Nieto, a lecturer, popularizer, and specialist in exercise physiology, metabolism, sports nutrition, and performance. He has worked with and advised high-level athletes, including Olympic and international athletes, integrating training, recovery, nutrition, rest, and health from a practical view of the human body.

Author of the book ‘Hormones, Metabolism and Performance’ (Tenos ed.), he insists that “your body does not want to change.” All it wants is to survive. Your job is to convince it that it must do so because it is best for its metabolic health.”

Avoiding restrictive diets and extreme dogmas, Claudio teaches how to interpret the signals of our metabolism from knowledge and biology, not from punishment.

Gregorio Mora

Gregorio Mora, the Intermediary to Fall Asleep Like a Baby

Sleep is not simply closing your eyes and waiting for sleep to come almost by magic. It is resynchronizing with our body. Gregorio Mora is a sleep specialist, chronobiology expert, creator of the First Sleep Wellness method, and a science communicator on rest. He knows first-hand the keys to sleeping well every day.

“To sleep you don’t need to resort to strange things. But being on your phone until the last second, eating late, or having very bright lights at home certainly doesn’t help. It also doesn’t help to watch a movie that excites us. Everything must induce a state conducive to sleep,” he explains.

For years he has helped elite athletes, executives, and families regain restorative sleep, adapting rest to the biology of each person. In Gijón he will share all that knowledge so that we can all sleep like babies.

Fernando Mora
Fernando Mora will reveal some of the secrets of how our brain works.

Fernando Mora, the Caretaker of the Brain

Far too often we obsess about caring for the body and forget to pamper the brain. This is reminded to us by Fernando Mora, head of the Psychiatry Section at Infanta Leonor Hospital, professor of psychiatry at the Complutense University of Madrid, and a mental and emotional health communicator. Author of the book ‘Make Your Brain Make Good Decisions’ (Zenith) and a content creator on social networks, he insists that one of the ways to achieve emotional balance “is to avoid negative thoughts. For example, avoiding thinking that something will go wrong and convincing ourselves that it will go well.”

His work brings neuroscience and psychiatry to the general public in a practical, evidence-based way.
