Kate Middleton Is the Best Winter Outfit Inspiration: Her Top Coats

Thinking of Kate Middleton is thinking of her coats. The Duchess of Cambridge is famous for her feminine, elegant, and timeless style, and she always completes each of her looks with one impressive. In fact, her collection proves it. Throughout every single one of her appearances we have seen her in numerous fabrics, colors, cuts, and prints. And we can affirm that there is no royal who has outerwear like the pieces in her wardrobe.

She has a knack for choosing them evident. And beware, because you will not find only luxury pieces (although Alexander McQueen and Catherine Walker (the one who also dressed Diana, Princess of Wales) are VERY present). She also keeps some low-cost brands, others made in Britain, and even some manufactured in Spain.

Be that as it may, what is clear is that she always manages to look impeccable (and to fit like a glove), whether she goes for the plainer models or for others that take center stage in the entire ensemble. So, if this winter you’re looking for inspiration in her, these six are my favorites. Also the most special.

The Best Coats of Kate Middleton

Red coats.

Red coats. I think they are my favorites. When Christmas approaches, the royal wears them as a uniform. I especially love those with epaulettes and a good drape like the one she wore in 2024. You’ll only need a simple dress and voila, a ten-outfit.

Camel coats.

Camel coats. They are among the most wearable and versatile in her wardrobe. They’re perfect for daytime events or for elegant meals. And although she wore it in a total look for her visit to the town of Scarborough in 2022, you can wear them with your trusted jeans. The best part is that they never go out of style.

Special designs.

Special designs. Among all her coats, this sky-blue cape is one of the most extraordinary. It is by Mulberry and she wore it in 2019 for a stroll in Ireland during one of her official visits with Prince William.

Checkered coat.

Green coat with fur collar.

Abrigo verde con cuello de pelo. La Navidad es la mejor época para dejar que un abrigo te vista, y Catalina de Gales lo tiene muy claro. Este de Catherine Walker es un buen ejemplo de cómo un modelo especial compone todo un look.

Grey coat.

Abrigo gris. Some would say it is one of the simplest, but it is full of details that make it very special. Also signed by Catherine Walker, its ladylike style crafted in wool and with a curly finish is elegant, timeless, and perfect for any occasion.
