When, after her separation from Gerard Piqué, Shakira gave us the immortal line ‘women no longer cry, women cash in’, we did not imagine to what extent the Barranquilla one would make it real. Now, the most famous verse from the BZRP Music Sessions #53 comes to life in the ambitious residence of the Colombian singer in Madrid, which handles multimillion-euro figures. It is expected that the dozen of concerts Shakira will offer in the capital will generate direct associated expenditure of around 200 million euros, with an estimate of 600,000 spectators and about 10,000 workers involved in the project.
Shakira arrives in Spain after touring Latin America and the United States, and the anticipation is at its peak. Searches for stays in Madrid between September 18 and October 11 have risen by 56% compared with the same period in 2025, and there has been a 38% increase in train trips to Madrid from September 18 to 20. Experts estimate a total expenditure of between 500 and 700 euros for an attendee who travels specifically for one of the Colombian’s concerts.
Madrid will be the sole European stop of a tour dubbed ‘The Women No Longer Cry World Tour’. With nearly all tickets sold, its home will be the Shakira Stadium, a temporary venue built on a private 220,000 m2 site named Macondo Park. Located on the outskirts of the city, it comprises eight pavilions and typically hosts musical events such as the Mad Cool festival.

Shakira herself has described the event as ‘the largest residency by any artist in European history’ and with its twelve dates, it will surpass by two the number of shows Bad Bunny offered this spring in Madrid. Upon arriving in Spain, she stated that ‘here I have been happy, I spent the most important years of my life here and also hard moments’. And she highlighted her happiness to ‘return in this way, surrounded by affection, love and the support I never lacked from my Spanish fans and the people of Spain to offer them the best of me and of our culture’.
Dates, times and tickets for Shakira’s residency
Shakira’s residency in Madrid comprises twelve concerts spread over four consecutive weekends, between September 18 and October 11, 2026. The shows take place at Shakira Stadium, a temporary venue built especially for the occasion inside the Macondo Park cultural city, located in the Iberdrola Music space of Villaverde.

The general opening times of the venue will be 15:30 hours during the first weekend and 12:00 hours on the remaining dates. The cultural activities of Macondo Park will begin shortly after opening. The estimated doors opening time of the stadium will be between 18:30 and 20:00. The Shakira show will start at 20:30 or 21:00, depending on the day.
There are still tickets available through the usual channels (Live Nation, Ticketmaster…) from 73.50 euros. VIP packages can go up to 725 euros. Given the large anticipated turnout, both the organizers and the Madrid City Council recommend using public transport to reach Villaverde. Attendees can opt for the Cercanías, the metro, or the bus, with free EMT shuttles between 23:00 and 02:00.
One Hundred Years of Solitude: Shakira’s inspiration
The Iberdrola Music festival grounds have been renamed for the occasion as Macondo Park. This megaproject pays homage to the magical realism of its compatriot and Nobel Prize in Literature, Gabriel García Márquez. Macondo is the imaginary city that serves as the setting for the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude.

The Shakira Stadium, within this particular Macondo, has been designed by the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels’s studio, BIG. All about grandeur. A stadium with capacity for 50,000 people, distributed as 30,000 tiered seats and 20,000 in the arena. The architects have created curved pathways, partially covered by canopies made from recycled fabric, to connect leisure spaces, Latin American gastronomy zones, and children’s areas (a Macondito).
Shakira and her guest stars
The Colombian artist will not be alone on stage during her twelve concerts in the Spanish capital. Shakira will have up to 27 guest stars, including artists, DJs, orchestras and collectives. Among the best-known names who will sing alongside her are Amaia, Guitarricadelafuente, or Nathy Peluso.
The choice is not casual. The proposal brings together different scenes and generations of music in Spanish, with presence of both Spanish and Latin American artists. Thus, Shakira’s residency broadens its programming beyond her own repertoire and turns each day into a date with different musical proposals.
