Six months after the shock surrounding the accusations against Julio Iglesias, his music was vindicated by Luis de la Fuente in the celebrations after winning the World Cup. The national team coach brought out his most spontaneous side by performing the song Quijote with his players. Now, the singer is back in the news for his real estate moves: he has put up for sale the mansion in Galicia he bought last year.

“It is a very beautiful house in the middle of the countryside, ten kilometers from where I grew up as a child and used to visit my uncles, when I was five or six years old,” Julio Iglesias told the magazine ¡Hola! from Miami in 2025. According to the artist, “nostalgia” was to blame for the acquisition of this property in the Ourense municipality of Piñor, very close to Peroxa, the birthplace of his father, Dr. Julio Iglesias Puga.

“We are going to go this summer, I feel Galician,” added a hopeful Julio Iglesias then. However, the singer never managed to visit this property that is now being put on the market. The stone mansion, located in the heart of nature and which was once owned by Manuel Cabezas, former mayor of Ourense, is for sale at a price around four million euros,

Lucas Fox, the luxury real estate agency that handled the purchase of the house at the time, is the one now in charge of its sale as well. “Fantastic stone house with a lot of charm, with total privacy and with all the amenities and details for sale in the interior area of the province of Ourense,” reads the listing on its website.

This is the mansion Julio Iglesias is selling

Surrounded by stately houses and towering walls, a large wooded plot of 16,000 square meters hides the grand mansion that has been Julio Iglesias’s property for a year. Neither he nor any member of his family has ever set foot on this property which, in addition to its main residence, features two auxiliary buildings, a large pool, and a beautiful artificial lake.

The main house is composed of a ground floor, a semi-basement, and an upper floor. Although the real estate agency does not publish interior photos, it emphasizes that the finishes used are high-end, with floors “solid chestnut wood on sleepers.” The dwelling extends over 1,637 m2 with the three floors connected by a stone staircase and an elevator.

The private area has seven bedrooms and thirteen bathrooms. In it stand out the spacious main suite, an elegant and beautiful dining room and a large and sophisticated professional kitchen. A library, a leisure and rest area with a fireplace, a gym and a wine cellar complete the interior attractions of the mansion. There is also a large garage with access from a ramp at the back of the house.

In one of the annex buildings “perfect for guests or staff” there are two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, a large bright lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. The other is right in front of the pool and has a chill-out area, a jacuzzi and a “beautiful Italian kitchen embedded in a cabinet.” A hórreo, a canine park and a woodshed complete the exterior facilities of the estate.

The Four Moons: his finca in Ojén

Although Julio Iglesias has decided to part with his Ourense property, he still owns another emblematic property in our country. It is the Las cuatro lunas estate, located in the province of Málaga. Built on a 450-hectare plot and with a value that could reach 150 million euros. There, every summer the Iglesias Rijnsburger family returns to enjoy a few days of vacation.

With two helipads, this residence ten kilometers from Marbella offers total privacy and that is why it is a coveted and enjoyed destination every summer not only for the Iglesias Rijnsburger. Famous friends of the couple, such as Luis Alfonso de Borbón and his wife, Margarita Vargas, or Paloma Cuevas, are regular guests at the mansion.

The property features seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, five for the staff and three for the family. One of the bedrooms, a huge suite where the singer and the model spent their wedding night, measures 400 square meters, a detail that hints at the mansion’s dimensions. Of course, the views of the sea and the mountains are a true spectacle.
