The King Felipe and Queen Letizia inaugurate today the exhibition dedicated to Queen Victoria Eugenia, which will be available from December 3 to April 5, 2026 in the Gallery of the Royal Collections at the Royal Palace of Madrid. An exhibition that coincides with the TVE premiere of Ena, the miniseries about her tragic life based on the homonymous book by Pilar Eyre.
The exhibition presents a collection of approximately 350 works, documents, books and photographs, which revisits in a contemporary key a figure who defined a new way of being a queen consort, combining her official role as wife to the king with humanitarian work in a modern and renewed manner.
Last week, Doña Letizia already paid a small tribute to Queen Victoria Eugenia, when, at the gala dinner with the German president, she decided to wear the Cartier tiara, a piece she had worn only once before, and which was designed in 1907 for the great-grandmother of King Felipe VI.
The Look of Queen Letizia, in detail
On this occasion, Queen Letizia has debuted a two-piece tweed set that we had not seen before, which she accompanied with a black wool coat on arrival. A look less striking than the gala one mentioned above, but very suitable for the occasion. Classic, flattering, and perfect for staying warm without sacrificing elegance.
Queen Letizia’s charitable look
The ensemble, in black and white and made of tweed, is a classic in Letizia’s wardrobe, especially in the winter looks, as it is a thick and structured fabric that provides texture and presence. In this case it consists of a blazer-style jacket, with a round neckline, no lapels, straight cut and tapered at the waist, naturally shaping the silhouette. On the other hand, we have the pencil-cut skirt, which follows the body’s line and ends just below the knee. The hem has a subtly frayed finish, a modern detail that contrasts with the classicism of the outfit.
This two-piece belongs to the collaboration of the brand Coosy with Apramp, who have joined to create the new collection “Alma by Apramp”, created in the textile workshop by women survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation who today build new life projects from their autonomy and their talent
Complete the look with kitten-heel pointed-toe shoes with a buckle detail and the Victoria Insignia bag by CH Carolina Herrera, in black, which also carries a powerful meaning. This bag went on sale in 2018 and belonged to the brand’s Insignia collection, a design inspired by the initials CH and, therefore, by all influential women.
In this model the CH initials are placed on the bag’s flap, designed in fine and supple napa leather or Sabina leather, durable and with a soft texture, crafted by the brand’s artisans in its workshops in Spain. It was a collection whose designs drew inspiration from the spirit of those women who had made history, and Letizia’s decision to wear it today is a strong statement of intent.
Finally, in the beauty section, she wears her hair loose, styled with a middle part, straight and with volume at the roots. The makeup is subtle but flawless, with radiant skin, eyes lightly defined and lips in a neutral shade. Queen Letizia once again hits the mark with an aesthetically perfect look, and one that is full of meaning.
