6 Winter Flat Shoes That Are Elegant and Wearable

For several seasons now I’ve realized that flat shoes are not a plan B, they are a secret weapon. Especially in winter, when we want to maintain the sophistication of our look without sacrificing comfort. However, finding that pair that works with any staples we have in mind, isn’t that easy. Especially if what we’re looking for is to look as flattering as if we were wearing heels.

The Fall/Winter 2025-2026 season has again placed the focus on them, and it’s no wonder, since they are versatile and have the power to transform a look effortlessly. From polished loafers to structured ballet flats or hybrid models inspired by masculine styles, winter flat shoes are comfortable, add texture, and give an elegant touch that is irresistible.

Now, although their wide range is quite varied, my advice (and that of all stylists) is to opt for those models that have the best of both worlds. That is, they should have a youthful and distinctive touch that feels current, but that do not lose their classic structure; because that is precisely what will keep them timeless as the seasons go by.

In my ranking: flat shoes for 2025

Bailarinas con tachuelas de Martinelli, 99,95 euros.

Martinelli studded flats, 99,95 euros. Perfect when you want an elegant touch with a rock-and-roll vibe. Pair them with dark straight-leg trousers or with a flowing midi skirt to create contrast. Above, a minimalist sweater lets the footwear take center stage without competing visually.

Mascaró suede and patent loafers, 199 euros.

Mascaró suede and patent loafers, 199 euros. I was smitten at first sight. They pair beautifully with straight jeans and a masculine coat, but they also elevate any office look with pinstripe trousers and a well-structured shirt. You’ll get a lot of use out of them.

Alohas square-toe ballet flats with laces, 199 euros.

Alohas square-toe ballet flats with laces, 199 euros. These square-toe flats are modern, clean, and have an architectural edge. That’s why they are ideal for streamlined looks and minimalist-inspired outfits. It doesn’t matter which capsule wardrobe piece you pair them with: you’ll always be on point.

Black classic loafers from Lottusse, 299 euros.

Black polished moccasins from Lottusse, 299 euros. Polished black moccasins are an absolute wardrobe staple that never goes out of style, even as years pass. They’re a true investment. For a flawless look, wear them with tailored trousers and a turtleneck; for a more relaxed yet equally elegant look, pair them with dark jeans and a masculine blazer.

Bailarinas de terciopelo con detalle dorado de Pretty Ballerinas, 229 euros.

Pretty Ballerinas velvet flats with gold detailing, 229 euros. These flats bring a romantic and sophisticated touch thanks to the gold detail at the toe. Wear them with black ankle-length trousers or with a straight midi dress to let the ornament stand out. Finish your look with a wool coat and voilà, a ten-out-of-ten look.

Sandro leather deck shoes, 295 euros.

Náuticos planos de piel de Sandro, 295 euros. Their combination of visible stitching and laces gives a preppy air that’s very easy to pair with woolen garments and rustic fabrics. They work very well with straight trousers in neutral colors and chunky knits, or with a midi skirt if you’re looking for something more elegant.
