Zara’s perfume fans are in mourning, as one of the best-selling fragrances from the Inditex giant has been withdrawn from the market, to the surprise of many. For several years now, the Zara’s perfume section has become a reference for those who like to smell good all day long.

And indeed, thanks to collaborations with Jo Malone or to a wide variety of scents, Zara has positioned itself as the perfect alternative to find quality perfumes at a much more affordable price. However, in the last few days, the company led by Marta Ortega has been in the news not for launching a new viral aroma, but for having made one of the brand’s best-selling fragrances disappear.

We are talking, specifically, about Vibrant Leather, a men’s perfume, although it is also available for women, that has disappeared from the market. And not only that. On social media, several users claim to have seen this well-known fragrance taken out of their hands, due to an immediate recall that even took place live in some of the Spanish brand’s stores.

The reason remains unknown. Zara has not explained in detail why this fragrance that could be one of its users’ favorites disappears so abruptly. Thus, this is not a matter of a few sales, but something related to its formulation.

The Zara perfume withdrawn.

This has been confirmed by some perfumery experts such as Jose Gorumand through social networks. The specialist explained that this change in the sale of their collections could be due to the law that went into effect on July 31 and which prohibited some ingredients commonly used in perfumes.

This could explain why Vibrant Leather included some of those components that have been prohibited by IFRA (International Fragrance Association). A theory that gains traction, since this is not the only perfume that has been withdrawn from the market.

Other references, such as the ones known for their vanilla aroma and some in the children’s section, have also been removed from the fragrance section, thus confirming that it could be a reformulation of these references to avoid those ingredients that could be considered harmful.

For now, the Inditex giant announces on its website a new chapter in perfumery with the launch of a new collection of fragrances for winter. “A chilly and frosted effect in the amber gourmand interpretations of our iconic fragrances,” they say about their new perfumes.
