The Mistake I Made with My Favorite Perfumes That Could Ruin Their Scent

For years I stored my perfumes wherever was most convenient: on a bathroom shelf, next to the mirror. It seemed the most logical place, until I discovered that it is precisely one of the worst spots to store a fragrance. The temperature changes, the humidity from the shower, and constant exposure to light can alter the scent much sooner than we imagine. Since then I only leave out the ones I am using at the moment and store the rest in a dark and cool place. It may seem like a quirk, but I like to know they will still smell the same a few years from now.

I avoid leaving them in the car for hours, try to keep them away from windows, and never store them in places that are too warm. It’s not a complicated routine and doesn’t require buying anything special. It simply consists of taking better care of fragrances that, over time, can lose part of their personality if not preserved correctly.
