One edition more, the Princess of Asturias Awards have taken place at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo. One of Queen Letizia’s favorite moments to bring out her most powerful, elegant, and festive side to celebrate and honor the scientific, technical, cultural, social, and humanitarian work of all the laureates under the guidance of her daughter, Princess Leonor, the main protagonist of the solemn ceremony.

But as we said, it is no coincidence that the good taste of Queen Letizia at the awards ceremony has been reflected year after year since she became royal, even after stepping back a bit as a mother and as queen.

And thus she has once again proven it since she stepped today onto the blue carpet alongside King Felipe, Leonor and Infanta Sofía: Letizia has chosen a black dress with sheer panels with which she has dazzled the other guests’ looks.

After attending Thursday night’s traditional concert within the Princess of Asturias framework with a distinctive navy-blue outfit, and meeting this very morning in audiences with the awardees, the chairs of the juries and the members of the boards of the Princess of Asturias Foundation with a gray Mango suit, Letizia has finally surprised us.

In line with the black dress with ruffles by Carolina Herrera she wore in 2024, Doña Letizia has worn a black tulle dress with sheer panels but with a twist. On one hand, it is the black Sybilla dress she had worn at the Mariano de Cavia, and on the other, she debuted a beautiful silk gauze cape, short sleeves and a high-neck collar, also from the Spanish brand, which did not disappoint.

The styling achieves what we expected. Letizia remains sober and elegant but with a perfect dose of details that make her the best-dressed guest: the delicate tul fabric that reveals the shoulders, the strapless neckline, the high collar, and an asymmetrical hem that elevates even more a dress she had already debuted, transforming it so that it seemed new.

But that’s not all. Queen Letizia has pulled out her best accessories to accompany this centerpiece piece. On one hand, she has worn a black clutch, also by Sybilla, and a pair of black pointed-toe heels with a comfortable heel from Magrit.

The Queen Letizia wore an elegant mid-height ponytail.

And on the other hand, she chose gemstone earrings in white gold and diamonds with a teardrop shape from the Swiss brand De Grisogono. A choice that blends perfectly with the central look: they stand out and complement but do not steal the spotlight from Letizia’s tul dress.

But if there is one detail that has won us over about Queen Letizia at the Princess of Asturias Awards, it has been her hair. The royal has fashioned a beautiful mid-height ponytail, with all the hair sleek and brushed back, and the ends with waves. A hairstyle we hadn’t seen in a long time, but one with which she has nailed it thanks to the dress’s neckline design.
