Eleventh consecutive year as Honorary President of the Princess of Asturias Foundation -a role she has held since 2014-, seventh year delivering her awaited speech, and the first year as host, the most important of all. Accompanied by Queen Letizia, Infanta Sofía, King Felipe and Queen Sofía, the Princess Leonor has once again been the absolute protagonist at the Princess of Asturias Awards 2025 in its 45th edition.
After attending the traditional concert with an Armani jacket in tribute to the late designer of the brand, and after remaining very elegant and sober in the audience of the laureates in a navy suit, Princess Leonor stepped onto the blue carpet of the Teatro Campoamor, wearing a spectacular H&M dress of classic cut. One with which she demonstrates that her more mature image is now part of that of a future heir rather than that of a princess.
Thus, for this occasion, Leonor has been doubly the protagonist, since in 2024 King Felipe handed over the reins to his daughter as host of the solemn ceremony this year, an edition in which she has also played a significant role in the selection of the laureates.
An exceptional list of laureates this year includes writer Eduardo Mendoza (Literature), photographer Graciela Iturbide (Arts), economist and politician Mario Draghi (International Cooperation), demographer Douglas Massey (Social Sciences), tennis player Serena Williams (Sports), philosopher and essayist Byung-Chul Han (Communication and Humanities), geneticist Mary-Claire King (Scientific and Technical Research) and the National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico (Concordia).

Thus, for such a special occasion, Princess Leonor has moved away from haute couture guest designs and has turned to H&M to dress. The heiress has chosen a discounted dress from the Swedish firm that has every detail.
It is a midi dress with a flared skirt in jacquard fabric, with a round neckline and a hidden zipper with a snap closure at the back. The sleeves are short with shoulders slightly dropped and a fitted waist with stitched pleats to adapt to the silhouette.
A princess-cut dress, classic style, in a dark purple shade that fits very well with the event’s protocol despite being a low-cost piece that is also now reduced from 69.99 euros to 49.99 euros.

That said, Princess Leonor has slightly modified the sleeves of the H&M dress, shortening them and adding two jewel buttons on each side to further elevate the elegance of her design, and proving that a piece already perfect can be even more so.
As for the rest of the accessories, Leonor wore black heels with comfortable height and did not carry a purse or larger jewelry than the black amethyst earrings that belong to Queen Letizia’s jewelry collection and accompanied them with pretty loose waves and a very natural and soft smoky eye makeup.
