During her state visit to Australia, Mary of Denmark has revealed some of her lesser-known facets. Not only have we seen her dressed in gala attire, displaying her most elegant side, but she has also opted for more casual and informal looks that bear little resemblance to her usual royal style.
The most surprising? A look with sneakers. Yes, for her visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where she met with Hawthorn Football Club players and children from the Hawthorn Auskick League, Donaldson chose sneakers that did not go unnoticed.
For the occasion, she opted for a comfortable look featuring fluid linen trousers in blue. A silhouette with a loose cut and high waist, to which she added a white T-shirt and a white blazer that gave the look a more formal touch.
However, the surprise arrived on the feet. For footwear, she chose sneakers suitable for being on the playing field. But they were not the typical classic white model we’ve seen from her before, the ones worn by Kate Middleton or Queen Letizia. Nothing like it.
Mary of Denmark with Nike sneakers.
She chose, specifically, the Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit, running sneakers with cushioning and a sporty aesthetic not typically seen in Mary of Denmark’s wardrobe. White in color with a blue sole, these are among the firm’s latest offerings for runners.
Running is one of the queen’s favorite sports, a passion she has instilled in her children, with whom we have seen her share runs on occasion. And it seems she wanted to revive the sneakers she uses for it for this sporting engagement in Australia.
The Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit.
They are the Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit sneakers, notable for being able to offer runners cushioning that doesn’t weigh them down, lighter, more elastic and dynamic. Not to mention that thanks to Nike’s Air unit, this shoe provides maximum protection against impacts from the rear to the front of the model.
On the upper, they feature Flyknit fabric, which is seamless, providing lightness and a snug, sock-like fit that wraps the foot, delivering a softer and more comfortable feel during a run.
They also incorporate that characteristic Flywire cable lattice, adding lightness and support in the midfoot area of the shoe. Not to mention the multiple rubber pods, sculpted into the sole, which, in addition to enhancing grip and traction, also boost that sense of flexibility and lightness.
