French Women’s Favorite Brand Sells Queen Letizia’s Most Special Coat

Among the best looks of Queen Letizia in 2025, there is a styling formula not as well remembered, but at the time it was an absolute winner. We are talking about an outfit featuring a plaid coat that she wore last year during her visit to the Book Fair, which she already had in her wardrobe and which is much easier to copy than it seems.

And indeed, in the new collection of one of the brands that resonates most with French women, we found a design very similar to the one chosen by Queen Letizia at that time. And although it is a garment that debuted in 2021, this new release is the best proof that it is a timeless proposition worth investing in.

We are talking, specifically, about a white and black Vichy plaid trench coat from the Spanish brand Mirto. A straight-cut design with long sleeves, a notched lapel collar, and a front closure with black buttons that stood out, especially for that spring-like print and not so common in the wardrobe of the queen consort.

It was in May 2024 when we last saw it on her, pairing it with black, classic-cut trousers that grazed the ankles, and a black crew-neck sweater. Basic pieces that she cinched with a thin belt and completed with a Uterqüe bag with studs and a pair of Sézane shoes.

A total black formula that gave the plaid jacket prominence and was among the most applauded, as well as pure inspiration for all fans of Queen Letizia’s style. The bad news? It was a coat that was nearly impossible to imitate, as it is from several seasons ago and is no longer available.

Until now. Sézane, one of Queen Letizia’s favorite brands, has released a model that has nothing to envy it and that looks a lot like the one worn by the monarch. In its new collection, there is a white-and-black Vichy plaid coat that is already on our wishlist.

The brand kicked off 2026 with a New York-inspired collection. The plaid pattern returns to take center stage, but denim pieces with special touches, romantic blouses where details like ruffles or lace steal the spotlight, and yes, there is also a Vichy plaid coat.

It is a mid-length model, with a classic lapel collar and a front button closure. It has an oversize cut, is long-sleeved and seems to be made from a fabric slightly thicker than the one Letizia wore. More coat, less trench.

The Sézane coat.

It costs 275 euros and is available from size 34 to 46. And if the black-and-white formula doesn’t convince you, you should know the brand also offers it in brown tones. An ideal option for those who prefer neutral tones that are easier to combine.
