Paris once again becomes the epicenter of fashion. As the major fashion houses unveil their collections for the upcoming spring-summer 2027, the streets of the French capital transform into an improvised runway where editors, style influencers and guests at the shows give us a preview of some trends that promise to generate a lot of chatter.
And, although the big trends always take center stage, it is the small details that manage to make the difference. A garment worn in an unexpected way, an accessory we thought forgotten, or a combination that, at first glance, seemed impossible can become the best source of inspiration to refresh our outfits.
Micro-trends seen in Paris street style
This time, we have focused on five micro-trends that we spotted in the street style Parisian and that have many possibilities of making their way into our wardrobes this autumn.
Balloon mini-skirts worn as a sash
Balloon skirts have been asserting their place in the wardrobe for several seasons, but the streets of Paris propose a different way to wear them. Now they are layered over trousers, almost as if they were a voluminous sash, to create an entirely new silhouette.
One of the most interesting proposals we’ve spotted combines a chocolate brown satin-finish balloon mini-skirt with straight-leg jeans and a black shirt. The volume is concentrated at the waist and hips, while the rest of the outfit maintains simple lines.

It is a reinterpretation of the trend of skirts over pants that plays with proportions and demonstrates that a single piece can completely change the result of an outfit.
Rigid clutches become small sculptures
Among the accessories that have caught our attention stand out hand-held bags with structured shapes. Rigid clutches opt for geometric designs, polished finishes and silhouettes that move away from traditional models.
One of the photographs from the Parisian street style gives us a design especially interesting: a cylindrical bag with a wood-like finish and a long black tassel that adds movement.

This type of accessory has the ability to elevate even the most sober outfits. Paired with tailoring pieces, minimalist dresses or monochrome ensembles, they become the real focal point without the need to resort to bright colors.
Colorful socks demand the spotlight
For quite some time now, socks stopped being an accessory that had to be hidden, but this season they seem determined to gain even more prominence. And the streets of Paris have left us with some combinations worth keeping on the radar.
On one hand, we’ve spotted gray socks paired with burgundy platform shoes, mid-length jeans and a checked blazer. On the other, red socks that become the color touch of an outfit composed of a suede skirt, a sporty jacket, and black heels.

The idea is to play with contrasts and let the socks become part of the styling. Colorful designs, ribbed finishes, and lengths reaching mid-calf open up a whole range of possibilities for experimenting with autumn footwear.
Backpacks return with a more playful version

If we thought backpacks were reserved for travel, commutes or sportier looks, the street style of Paris invites us to rethink it.
This practical accessory reappears in the looks of the attendees at the shows with designs that go beyond its functional nature. Plaid patterns, illustrated motifs, and retro-inspired details bring a playful touch that contrasts with more sophisticated garments.
Knitwear is tied around coats and jackets
We end with one of those styling tricks that can change a look without needing to buy anything new. The knit sweater abandons its usual position to become an accessory worn tied over outerwear.
Although we are used to seeing it draped over the shoulders, the proposal we’ve spotted in Paris involves placing it around the waist, over a jacket or coat, as if it were a belt.

Besides introducing a new texture, this way of wearing the jersey allows playing with proportions and giving a second life to the garments we already have in the wardrobe. A simple way to incorporate layering into autumn outfits.
