Those who lived through the eighties surely remember Christina Rosenvinge for Chas y aparezco a tu lado, the song she performed with Álex de la Nuez and that became one of the great hits of Spanish pop. But behind that young woman with blonde hair, there was an artist who would end up building one of the most personal trajectories in our music. Almost four decades later, Christina Rosenvinge returns to stand in front of cameras, this time as the lead in Bimba y Lola’s new campaign.

The Spanish fashion house has chosen the Madrid-born singer, 62 years old, to present Romeo, its new autumn bag. And it has done so with a campaign that seems to deliberately move away from conventional fashion productions. Photographed by her friend Pablo Zamora, Rosenvinge appears surrounded by guitars, amplifiers, books and other everyday objects. A setting that reflects her creative universe and in which the bag integrates naturally

From pop star to reference of independent music

The story of Christina Rosenvinge begins long before her name was associated with fashion. Born in Madrid in 1964, to a Danish father and English mother, she began her musical career during the Movida Madrileña. She first was part of bands such as Ella y Los Neumáticos and, subsequently, achieved enormous popularity with the duo Álex & Christina, one of the musical phenomena of the late eighties.

However, far from staying anchored in that success, she decided to explore other paths. In the nineties she formed Christina y Los Subterráneos, a project with which she approached alternative rock and released albums such as Que me parta un rayo. Her later period in New York, where she collaborated with musicians linked to Sonic Youth, helped to consolidate an artistic identity that was much more experimental.

Over the course of her career she has released works such as Lo Nuestro, Un hombre rubio or Los versos sáficos, which demonstrate her ability to reinvent herself without renouncing a distinctive personality. A career recognized with the National Prize for Contemporary Music in 2018 and the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts corresponding to 2025.

That creative independence is also reflected in her way of dressing. Rosenvinge has built a recognizable image, balancing classic elegance, menswear-inspired garments, and certain nods to the world of rock. Her style has never relied too heavily on trends, which explains why it continues to remain interesting for fashion.

Romeo, the Bimba y Lola bag that revives the silhouette of the 2000s

The other protagonist of this collaboration is Romeo, the new design with which Bimba y Lola revives one of the most recognizable formats from the early 2000s: the bowling bag. Those elongated silhouettes, defined structure and small handles that accompanied many outfits of the era return now with cleaner lines and updated proportions.

Romeo stands out for its compact shape, its slim and tubular handles, and the gold-toned metal details, which provide a discreet contrast. Its design forgoes excessive adornments and bets on a simple aesthetic, albeit with enough personality to complete an outfit.

Once years later, the name crosses her path again, now turned into a fashion accessory.
