Best Cosmetics for Your September Makeup Bag

The other day someone asked me how I managed to achieve the glow that, apparently, I have. I must admit that the holidays treated me well, that summers in the Mediterranean are humid (but also very rewarding), and that my dermatologist was right: when it comes to taking care of your face, less is always more.

The first and most important thing is to be aware of your skin type. In my case, it is sensitive by nature. It notices everything and it is affected by everything, so my routine is very focused on strengthening the skin barrier, repairing and protecting. In reality, those should be the pillars of any skincare, regardless of your age, because, as experts have been warning for years, strong skin is healthy, beautiful and youthful.

I have also embraced the mantra of “we are what we eat.” I have found the foods that suit me, drink plenty of water, sleep enough, and take care of my hormones. So, no. Unfortunately, I don’t have a miracle product that has transformed my skin in days, only very well-chosen treatments, consistency and patience. And if you ask me what I carry in my makeup bag and which cosmetics I will return to my routine with in September, these six will be on my list.

Six cosmetics for your September makeup bag

Tatcha The Rice Wash.

Tatcha The Rice Wash. This creamy cleanser restores hydration without being harsh, thanks to its amino-acid-rich base and the high percentage of rice powder. It removes impurities and achieves a soft, radiant complexion even on sensitive or delicate skin.

Pearl Skin Essence by Yinger Beauty.

Pearl Skin Essence by Yinger Beauty. If I could drink it, I would. This essence with a fresh veil gel texture, fresh and light, leaves a kind of moisturizing veil without a heavy sensation and prepares the skin to better receive subsequent treatments. The formula is designed to achieve an elastic and radiant result, but without confusing luminosity with oiliness. It contains ectoine, ceramides, Sacha Inchi oil, kombucha, and moringa. It is joined by a multi-layer hydration complex with hyaluronic acid, natural hydration factors, and humectants to keep water in the skin longer.

Sescacay Intensive Bioactive Oil by Sesderma.

Sescacay Intensive Bioactive Oil by Sesderma. Quickly absorbed with a silky texture, it deeply hydrates and provides an immediate sense of comfort to the skin. It promotes regeneration, improves texture and, thanks to its firming action, you’ll notice a firm and elastic result.

Photoderm Ultra-Fluid AR+ SPF50+ by Bioderma

Photoderm Ultra-Fluid AR+ SPF50+ by Bioderma offers very high protection against UVA and UVB rays, soothes rosacea-prone skin, and helps reduce redness and the sensation of heat. Moreover, its ultra-sensorial texture is ultra-fluid, invisible, with a dry finish and no white marks. It has it all.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. It’s a staple, but I promise you I cannot live without it. Its exclusive Chronolux™ Power Signal technology helps the skin increase natural collagen production and boosts the creation of healthy new cells. You’ll feel a firmer, healthier-looking face when you wake up.

Niacinamide Intensive NAD+ Cream by Institut Esthederm.

Niacinamide Intensive NAD+ Cream by Institut Esthederm. It is the night cream I use, and I must admit I have noticed a difference. This global-action treatment targets visible signs of tired skin (lack of luminosity, irregularities, and uneven texture) to enhance a healthy, flawless-looking result with continued use.
