Best Cardigans for Fall 2026

I must admit that until just a couple of seasons ago, cardigans and I did not get along very well. They have always seemed to me to be synonymous with cliché, childhood, and that preppy touch that swept the United States. However, fashion’s paradigm shift and the audacity of designers and fashion forecasters have turned it into an iconic piece that adapts to every dominant aesthetic.

In autumn/winter 2026-2027 this mid-season jacket is worn as tops with leather skirts to give it a seventies style, in neutral colors to complete any office look, and with your trusted denim following the French code of less is more.

Moreover, its wide range of options spans from those simpler, minimalist models that charm spirits who don’t complicate themselves, to others that play with prints, appliqués and details that give it a more contemporary interpretation.

In my wishlist: best cardigans

Thick brown Polo Club cardigan, 64.95 euros.

Thick brown Polo Club cardigan, 64.95 euros. It is a beauty. I love the color, the fabric, and that it is perfect to pair with both white trousers and your trusted jeans. It is the kind of garment that never goes out of fashion in your wardrobe.

Kiabi patterned cardigan, 22 euros.

Kiabi patterned cardigan, 22 euros. It’s a classic that never goes out of fashion, but at the same time, it feels modern. I would wear it with cargo pants or with a leather mini skirt for a remastered femininity.

Mango patterned cardigan, 29.99 euros.

Mango patterned cardigan, 29.99 euros. It follows the famous 90s pattern, and perhaps that’s why I’m so fascinated by it. It’s comfortable, not particularly thick, and you can wear it as a top or over shirts.

Sézane printed cardigan, 125 euros.

Sézane printed cardigan, 125 euros. It’s quite a declaration of intent that defies the tackiness traditionally associated with this type of garment. My advice is that the rest of the look be as soft as possible: a dark jeans or a white denim. The interesting thing is that it should stand out.

Massimo Dutti brown cardigan, 49.95 euros.

Cárdigan marrón de Massimo Dutti, 49,95 euros. It is the typical garment that won’t go out of fashion in your wardrobe and you can wear it whenever you need. It’s not thick, it’s ideal for the in-between seasons, and the color goes with everything.

Zara red cardigan, 49.95 euros.

Zara red cardigan, 49.95 euros. It follows two current trends, the unexpected red touch and its Napoleonic buttoning. With this cardigan you don’t need anything else, your trusted jeans, a pair of loafers, and voila.
