One more year, the island of Ibiza has once again become the summer epicenter of the celebrities. However, those who have revolutionized the networks with a friendship that has lasted for more than a quarter of a century are Ricky Martin and Esther Cañadas.
The singer and the model have been close since the early 2000s, when they first met in New York. And proof that their friendship remains intact has been their photos living the life la vida loca aboard a yacht in Ibizan waters that they have wanted to share with their millions of followers on Instagram.

Necessary for the soul,” was the lovely message Ricky Martin shared before dedicating a affectionate “I adore you” to his friend Esther Cañadas. Both showed off fit bodies and tan as they sailed the Mediterranean aboard the schooner El Beso. Owned by the iconic chiringuito Beso Beach, this vessel links Ibiza and Formentera and allows sailing with all kinds of luxuries, with a capacity for 12 people.
These heartwarming images came just a few hours before the Puerto Rican artist would deliver today his only concert in Spain. Ricky Martin will be in charge of closing the cycle of Las Noches del Foro shows at the Ibero-American Stadium in Huelva. “A beautiful European and Asian tour this summer. How lucky I am to keep doing what I love so much, performing on stages. To my audience, always, thank you. We keep going. New music before the end of the year. We keep going,” he added from his socials.
Ricky and Esther, the story of a solid friendship
The singer from San Juan and the Albacete model first crossed paths in the Big Apple, when she was trying to establish her career as an international top model. They were united by philanthropy, as both closely collaborated with the Sabera Foundation, a charity founded in 1999 by Nacho Cano to help marginalized and street children in Calcutta.

Since then, Esther and Ricky have continued to maintain a very close relationship, despite the distance and their demanding agendas. United by solidarity, we have seen them appear together during the amfAR gala in Cannes and when the singer was honored at the Hispanic Heritage Awards.
The islands of Ibiza and Formentera have also been the backdrop in other summers for the meetings between the model and the singer. In 2016, Esther Cañadas shared a few days of beach with Ricky Martin and his then-boyfriend, the Syrian-born artist Jwan Yosef.
