On paper, nothing has changed regarding the role of Marie-Chantal Miller and Pablo of Greece, heirs to the throne of Greece, the European Crown that was abolished in 1974. In effect, they continue to act as global millionaires with homes on every continent and professional activity in the business and financial sectors (she owns a children’s fashion brand) and finance. In Marie-Chantal’s Instagram profile, her self-designation has not changed: “Owner of a children’s fashion brand, author of ‘Good manners begin at breakfast’ and mother of five children.”
Behind this apparent lull, however, surprises occur. In recent months, the Greek royal family seems to have strengthened its ties with its country. They have achieved recognition of the surname ‘of Greece’ for everyone and Greek citizenship, without privilege of any kind. Pablo and Marie-Chantal already reside in their mansion in Athens, and the head of the Greek Crown denies in television interviews any possible political vocation.
The hypothetical return of monarchical fervor to the Greek republic is in the air, though Pablo of Greece does not want to hear it. “Fifty years have passed. The Republic of Greece and its Constitution are solid. There is no such problem,” he clarified. “I live here, close to you. I am a Greek who grew up abroad and has returned. Allow me to live my life. I want to contribute to my country. I want to be useful to my country. I ask for nothing different.”
Nevertheless, the pressure for him to leverage his invaluable global network of contacts exists. And the decision that his eldest son, Constantinos Alexios, should perform military service marks another step toward turning the royal family into an important asset for the country, at least at the symbolic level for now. But it is not only the headlines in the abolished line of succession that are campaigning monarchist in Greece today. To many people’s surprise, Marie-Chantal Miller, Marie-Chantal of Greece, is also mimicking her consort counterparts.

To date, the matriarch of the Greek clan has appeared more as a socialite, entrepreneur, and writer than as the consort of a deposed king. The acceleration of monarchic events in recent times, with funerals, weddings, and coronations, has nevertheless led her to act as a queen consort without a throne with some frequency. No one is surprised to see Marie-Chantal and Pablo of Greece alongside the rest of the European royal families.
Marie-Chantal, aspirational queen of Greece
In the last weeks, Marie-Chantal’s transformation into an aspirational version of the royal for Greek nostalgics has taken another step forward. As almost all European queens and princesses do, the American millionaire has undertaken a cooperation trip to Rwanda in which only a red vest was missing, in the style of Queen Letizia. Wearing a white shirt, sunglasses, and a backpack, she greeted children, held work meetings, and met with mothers, students, and community leaders in the Mahama refugee camp.
Before this cooperation trip, Marie-Chantal Miller and Pablo of Greece fulfilled another typical event on the agenda of any monarchy: attending the Olympic Games, in this case the Winter Olympics. In fact, they were invited by the president of the Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, to the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Games, as if they were current holders of a Crown. The recent activity of the British-American millionaire could not be more royal.

The symbolic ascent of Pablo and Marie-Chantal Miller regarding Greek citizenship, especially among the nostalgic sector of the monarchy, continues to rise. In fact, if we add the followers that the heads of the royal line and their children have on Instagram, they total around one million followers, approaching the social profile of the Spanish Crown. The appeal of this clan to the royal-enthusiast community is undeniable. And everything suggests it will grow in 2026, also thanks to important events connected to the history of the Greeks.
Marie-Chantal and Pablo, again in Tatoi
The most important, and already confirmed by the Ministry of Culture, will be the reopening of Tatoi, the Versailles of the Greek royal family, after decades of fires and neglect. The celebration of the rehabilitation of the 50 buildings that make up the royal complex will be accompanied by an exhibition devoted to the treasures of the Greek Crown: carriages and royal uniforms, the iconic Rolls-Royce limousine of Queen Federica, or the original furniture that decorated the emblematic Grand Salon.
Tatoi will become a large museum of the monarchy and Pablo of Greece and Marie-Chantal Miller will undoubtedly be at its inauguration. Although the most excited to see the beloved childhood home splendidly restored will be Queen Sofia.
